Sortation systems

The design and implementation of tailor-made sortation solutions to handle, process and sort a variety of goods including garments, jewelry, books, CDs, DVDs, cartons and postal packages.

Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS)

Automation of stacker crane retrieval columns capable of moving on both horizontal and vertical axes for the automatic picking and restocking of pallets, large boxes or totes.

Picking systems

The Group’s consultancy services provide the blue-print for the solution on a project to be designed and implemented. The Group has dedicated consulting and design teams experienced in various industries including retail operations, architecture, industrial, mechanical and electrical engineering and marketing.

Software

The Group’s software development resource is strongly represented by three dedicated development centres located in the USA, UK and in Germany.

SDI is continually upgrading and enhancing its systems technology to improve both its product portfolio and service offering to customers. Robust software packages have been designed to run sortation, warehouse control, diagnostics and maintenance systems to the most exacting standards – irrespective of whether they are standalone or if they have been interfaced with customers’ own host systems.

Warehouse management system software has been developed in a modular format, which provides the flexibility for customers to choose individual elements of control for receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking, dispatch and stock-counting. Our software also provides customers with KPI information and a full audit trail of stock movements.

The fact that SDI personnel program and maintain software for customers ensures that relationships with these customers continue after installation. This ensures a close customer relationship through ongoing system support and enables the Group to be well positioned for involvement in future projects.
